This was a great photo to receive on a chilly Saturday night. As my wife Heidi and I sat down to watch the Marist men's basketball team face Iona in the MAAC final at Atlantic City, it was so cool to see this group of alums made the impromptu trip to the Jersey Shore to watch their old school try to make history. It was the first time the Red Foxes were in the MAAC final, and what an improbable run! Marist was the 11th-seed in the tournament (there are 11 teams) and it was the first time an 11 seed made it that far. Although Iona won the game by 21 points, it was a thrilling second half, with Marist tying the game at 43 and making the perennially powerful Gaels sweat a little bit. Also great to get this photo of current Running Red Foxes (Gabe Rodriguez and Easton Eberwein) cheer on their team. Forever Foxes and Current Foxes united in the hope of some magic in AC. Although it didn't work out, it was a fun ride. Neat.
