His official title is Dean of Undergraduate Admission,
Marist College. But on Saturday at Indianapolis, Kent Rinehart was the Dean of
the Marathon. Proudly sporting the Marist Alumni Racing Team singlet (neat!),
Kent earned a fancy new personal-best time with a smartly paced race at Indy’s
Monumental Marathon, notching a strong finish of 3:12:43. His official race
splits are amazingly consistent: First 13.1 miles in 1:36:22, second 13.1 miles
in 1:36:21. Other numbers of note: 10km split, 46:43 (7:32 pace, 884th
place); 13.1-mile split, 1:36:22 (7:22 pace, 815th place); 30km
split, 2:17:18 (7:23 pace, 756th place), 3:12:43 (7:22 pace, 550th
place). He placed 52nd out of 392 in the M45-49 division. Soon after
at the finish, Kent posed with American marathon legend Deena Kastor. Nicely
done, Kent!
