Paul Short Run: Preliminary results and thoughts
On the bus home from Lehigh after a glorious day for cross country -- perfect weather! Crisp and cool and sunny and a dry and fast course. It was like magic out there. The women's results were still incomplete and they are being worked on, but this much we know: Junior Gianna Tedeschi broke the 6km cross country school record with a stellar race and time of 20:52.1, good for 44th place in the national-caliber Gold race. In the men's Brown race, we finished a competitive fourth place overall out of 44 teams. Our tight-pack spread was an absurdly compressed 19.4 seconds. Our 1-7 spread was an equally tight 31.9 seconds. In all, combined with the Open race, we had 12 men (four of them freshmen!) break 26:00 for the 8km course. Very solid day. Men's results are complete and will be posted here shortly. Women's Open race results are complete and will also be posted; women's Gold results will be posted as soon as they are complete. Family support was outstanding. Thanks to all.
