She’s been
chasing this goal for years. And on Sunday, Marist racewalker Katie Miale
achieved it! Katie will be joining her teammates and good friends Lauren Harris
and Kayla Shapiro at the United States Olympic Trials 20km racewalk. On Sunday
at the USATF championships on Hauppauge, Long Island, Katie finished in
1:46:17, easily finishing under the qualifying standard of 1:48:00. Lauren and
Kayla were there to help her along the way, along with Coach Chuck Williams,
who has elevated himself as a fixture and known coaching authority in the USA
racewalking community. Having three Olympic Trials qualifiers wearing the same
uniform will do that. Very, very neat! Congratulations, Katie!
