This was a truly
memorable day at a meet that has provided a few milestones for our program
throughout the years. Thanks to alumni and friends who have been blowing up my
phone with excitement. Please note: This is the same Paul Short course you all
have run in the past. A few other notes: The weather was perfect. Overcast,
cool, not sunny. The course was flawless. No rain, no mud. The field was as
strong as it has ever been. And yes, we opted for the Gold race, something we
haven’t done in many years. All of that – plus a hard-working team of motivated
men – led to history in the form of Ramsey Little’s school-record 23:34.2 (yes,
that’s accurate) time for 8km and Chris Paxis’ 24:37.0 time (third fastest ever
at Paul Short … behind Ramsey and Girma Segni). As well as several more
personal-best times. Know this: Our guys have their feet firmly on the ground.
They know that 35 teams finished ahead of them (including two MAAC schools).
Our work is still in front of us. But yeah: Today was a good and memorable day.
