Great weather and good vibes were in abundance on Friday afternoon/evening at Vassar's April Invitational. The Vassar track is our home away from home. Actually. I say that all the time and probably should correct it. The Vassar track IS our home. It's where we practice almost every day. And although it's not on our campus, it is where we do our work. So to have a meet at the Vassar track is quite neat. Lots of family members, alumni and even local running friends were in attendance to watch our women and men compete. This was a good meet! Vassar has an outstanding team, a top-flight D3 program. While we didn't run our entire squad, the women and men who raced got some great competition out there, as well as some solid early/mid-season marks. It was really nice not to have to board a bus for a long ride home after the 4x400 relays were over. Instead, we got to hang around, no rush, with only a 10-minute commute back to campus awaiting us. Here's hoping our good friends at Vassar will continue to host this meet. Because if they do, we'll be there!
