hah hah hah, look at all that "litter" on the infield floor....empty plastic water bottles, and probably fallen off hip numbers.....might be a good "environmental stewardship project" for the BU team hosts, to provide each entered athlete with a souvenir reusable metal water bottle, (or BPA free plastic), and add the cost for supplying these souvenir reusable drinking bottles into the entry fee....that way, each participating college is paying into a system of gradually reducing the amount of plastic being discarded...plastic comes from petroleum, and someday, in your athlete's lifetimes, there will be more weight of all the plastic in the oceans, than the weight of all the fish.
