Our decision to postpone the Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club's Recover From the Holidays (Fat Ass) 50-kilometer from Saturday to Sunday seemed to be the right decision. The weather was much better -- still chilly, but the sun warmed things up -- and the course was still snow-covered and slick in spots (as you can see in the above photo of Billy Hild and Omar Perez from today), but overall things went well. Major assist to my wife Heidi for the idea of purchasing the metal fire pit earlier last fall, which we used for bonfires in our backyard. Today, it sure came in handy up there at Norrie, as you can see. In the "I'm not so old, am I?" department, you can see me in this photo with my ubiquitous Stewart's coffee cup, along with my co-race director Charlie Sprauer on the far right (confused, as always) and our longtime Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club friend Claude Bodley, who always comes to help and spread good cheer to one and all.
