Thanks to Coach Horton for texting me the relay splits from
our men’s 4x200 (800-meter) relay at Colonial on Saturday. The team of Hakim
Cunningham (23.0), Tim Johnson (22.1), Josh Hindle (23.6) and Joe Cafaro (23.2)
darted to a time of 1:31.99. This was just 0.18 shy of the 2003 mark of
1:31.81, set by some of the best sprinters in school history: Adam Pakiela, Joe
Capecci, Eric Stelz, Rob DeAngelo. The 2016 version featured four
sprinters/hurdlers who were coming off several events prior to this relay. It
is a rarely run relay, and we are hoping to make one more run at it later in
the season at Penn Relays. When you come that close, you have to try again,
right?
