Our final event of the long weekend at Penn Relays was the
women’s 4x800 relay. Coach Chuck reported that the ladies had to sit/stand in
the paddock area for about 20 minutes, waiting for their heat to hit the track.
This is typical of the crowded Penn Relays, and it makes it difficult for
athletes to be properly warmed up for their events. Not an excuse at all; any
athlete who has run a relay at Penn will tell you that’s the deal. It does make
it tough for them. We were hoping for a bit better, but the same four ladies
will give it a go next weekend at MAACs and we’ll be hoping for bigger and
better things. Here are the the results, with the official splits courtesy of the Penn Relays Web site.
