Sophomore Spencer Johnson notched a 10-second PR in a grueling and late 10km last night, in a race that actually ended a little after midnight for him. Teammate Mark Valentino was a champ in texting me every split (which you see below) as well as in-race commentary. The next best thing to being there. Spencer went out at a hard and aggressive pace through 5km, hung tough, faded in the fifth mile but fought back gamely over the final five laps to secure a strong PR and inch closer to that IC4A standard.
