Whiteface Mountain

As mentioned in the previous post, we went to the top of Whiteface Mountain on Saturday. The views were amazing from up there. It was cool to be able to see Mirror Lake and Lake Placid from almost 5,000 feet up, and think that I was going to be running around that the next day.

We did NOT hike to the top of Whiteface -- that would have been a marathon effort in itself. For those keeping score at home, Whiteface is not the highest peak in New York State. Mt. Marcy is a bit higher at more than 5,000 feet. But Whiteface is plenty high up there. As you can see, it was a bit chilly at the top, and this was at 2 in the afternoon.

Programming note: Mark Valentino and I are heading out to Indiana for USA Juniors on Friday. I will post from out there starting Friday evening.
