First place in something: Academic team selections

It is with pride once again that the Marist College men’s and women’s track teams led the MAAC in All-Academic Team in number of athletes selected. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. On the men’s side, the Red Foxes led the league with 19 team members selected out a total of 80. The next most was 13 student-athletes. On the women’s side, Marist had 28 student-athletes on the team out of 115 total, and we were only two athletes ahead of second place as the league is gaining on us. As I have said numerous times, it’s great to be first place in something, and this something is pretty darn worthwhile.
