Visit from a Lumberjack

This above photo was taken in the wee hours of Friday morning here in West Covina at an all-night Denny’s, where we had a bleary-eyed, late night, post-meet meal at about 1 a.m. Pacific.

You might recognize the dude on the left as Marist Running Alum Adam Vess, now a grad student/runner at Northern Arizona.

Vess reunited with his old teammates and friends at Hilmer Lodge Stadium Thursday night, cheering on the Foxes and catching up on things. He is doing well, training hard and running a 5km here on Saturday afternoon.

It was great to see a perennially smirking Vess, mugging for the camera with his old pal Quimes. Despite being lavishly outfitted in Adidas NAU Lumberjack gear from head to toe, Vess will always be a Running Red Fox, and we will root him on no matter what uniform he wears.
