This is a few days late, but thanks so much for women's team captain Emily Litke for standing in like a champ to fill the coach's role at last Saturday night's Vassar meet. She noted that she 'had her Pete moment' by going across the street to the Gulf station to get a cup of coffee, and she had my ubitiquous clipboard and pencil for race splits, which she and her teammates so dutifully filled out for future reference.
It was an unusual meet, with several weather shifts and even an hourlong lightning delay! Meanwhile, 10 minutes across town, I was at Omar and Catherine's wedding, obsessively refreshing my phone to check on results and fielding texts about the weather delays. An unusual, crazy night. Thanks again to Emily and friends for keeping the distance ship afloat at our home-away-from-home track.
