Can't weight ...

The 2023 portion of our indoor track season has officially begun here at the McCann Center. A handful of men's track athletes returned for practice today. As is our custom, they hit the weight room after long run. The few guys that are here are bringing great energy. They are currently doing a weighted sled relay on the turf (above = captain Roshan K) and there is great anticipation and excitement about the upcoming schedule of meets. Great to have them back, and others will follow in the coming days. We can't wait (weight?) to get things going in earnest. Our next meet is Saturday night at the Armory (hosted by TCNJ) and the meets come in rapid succession after that. Here is the indoor schedule.

Saturday, Jan 14: TCNJ meet at Armory
Friday, Jan 20: Gotham Cup at Ocean Breeze
Fri/Sat, Jan 27-28: Terrier at BU
Friday, Feb 3: Mets at Ocean Breeze
Fri/Sat, Feb 10-11: Valentine at BU
Sat/Sun, Feb 18-19: MAACs at Armory
Friday, Feb 24: Last Chance at Ocean Breeze
Sat/Sun, March 4-5: IC4A/ECAC at BU

Also, a programming note: Thanks to all readers of this blog who have subscribed to my Substack newsletter (as referenced in last week's post). Special thanks who subscribed at the $30/year level. That support is essential for me to replicate (and expand upon) what I did with my Poughkeepsie Journal column for all those years. For those who have joined as "free" subscribers ... PLEASE consider changing to the paid model. At $2.50/month, it will amount to pennies per post. Now, I know, this blog has been "free" forever, but the Substack venture is a bit different in terms of time, effort and target audience. Any support is appreciated. Thank you.
