Army Five-Way Meet: Un"officially" a home meet

It was great to be back in the friendly confines of Gillis Field House at West Point on Saturday for our 2015 opening meet, hosted by the Army Track and Field program. It's as close to home as we get, and we felt right at home with the friendly faces among the officials: Our good pals Ken Kraft and John Lewis, Hall of Fame starter and official Tom McTaggart (shown above in action at the Penn Relays) and so many other local officials we have seen and heard over the past decades. As expected, they ran a smooth and efficient meet. It's also great having a short ride home up Route 9W, getting back to campus at a very reasonable hour. Next week and the rest of the season, it's back to the normal action at the Armory and at Boston University. But for one day, it was nice to be close to home.
