Huge congrats to rising junior racewalker Marissa Sciotto, who officially qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials 20km racewalk this morning at the Elliott Denman International meet at Monmouth University. Marissa took part in a 35km racewalk event (for those keeping score at home, that's 87.5 laps on a 400-meter track!), she won the race in 3 hours, 42 minutes, 38.47 seconds. This time easily exceeded the 4-hour qualifying standard. And so? Marissa (and, of course, Coach Chuck) punched her ticket to Eugene for the Trials. Coach Chuck has been the architect of this racewalking dynasty at Marist; he is pictured here with Marissa. Highly neat!
