Stockton Osprey Twilight: The answer, my friend ...

The wind was so strong, the trees swayed angrily in the stiff breeze on the campus of Stockton University in Galloway Township, near Atlantic City, NJ. At one point, it started raining sideways on one side of the track while the other side of the track was sunny. This was soon followed by a rainbow, which appeared across the horizon in time to see Greta Stuckey winning the 800-meter race. The wind never died down. It strongly affected all events from start to finish. And yet, we were grateful to be back in Atlantic County, back on a track, back participating in an outdoor track meet for the first time in nearly two years. We had more than gratitude swirling in the wind yesterday afternoon and early evening. We had some good performances – especially in events where our athletes had no formal training of any kind for weeks and months at a time -- hurdles, jumps, throws, stuff like that. And so our long-awaited outdoor track season begins just as soon as April ends. It’s a weird feeling, to be starting this week and racing at MAACs next week. We’ll take weird (Sara's sunglasses?). We’ll take anything!
