A bright and chilly midday at the Hudson Valley Rail Trail for the MAAC XC Virtual 5km, Marist men’s XC style. Most of the team showed up to cheer on and support our 7 finishers. A few of the milers from yesterday took the wheel out of the trunk of my car and accurately measured 5,000 meters, so the seven men didn’t have to rely on GPS statistics, which generally vary from person to person. West to east they ran, hard, with a 7-for-7 record of personal-best times (in fairness, several of these guys had never run 5km). Another great day after several months of not-so-great days.
