Marist Running Alum Adam Vess, now running for Team Flagstaff Pro/Elite, returned to the Boston University track for the second consecutive winter to run the 3,000 at the Valentine meet. He was aiming for a sub-8:00 clocking and fell just short. It was a highly competitive section. As with most indoor racing on the tight tracks, there was a strong physical element to the race. Unfortunately, Vess lost his rhythm about midway through the race when he got tangled up with another runner. His splits faltered ever so slightly and his usual, menacing kick was diminished a bit. Still, an 8:04.16 is pretty solid for an "off" day.
