Well. This is kind of like Disney 2012. Only, it's NOT!
Our travel party is stuck at the Newton Marriott outside of Boston, as we wait out this blizzard. Our women's team and some of our men's team left on the early bus, before the storm intensified. Most of the men's team remains here in the Boston area.
We left the meet this evening at around 8:45 p.m. The snow was steady and the roads were covered. Travel was slow. Because of the expected worsening conditions, we decided to hunker down one more night in the area until the blizzard passes. We are hopeful to make it out at some point on Sunday afternoon. We'll see.
You'll recall back in the fall of 2012, after the MAAC XC Championships at Disney, most of our travel party was stuck down there due to Hurricane Sandy and the travel delays it caused. They were "stranded" down there for several days -- "stranded" in quotes due to the fact that it's much easier to handle when it is sunny and warm and you are in the World's Happiest Place.
Suffice it to say that it is not sunny and it is not warm here in Newton -- especially when an unwanted fire alarm caused us to evacuate into the chilly night for a few minutes. But, for now, we are safe, and we are hopeful for a safe trip back to Poughkeepsie at some point on Sunday. Of course! Upon our return, it looks like we are facing dangerously cold wind chills ... and then, another snow storm. Lovely.

OMG! Remember when the team was stuck at Walt Disney World® that year? While I felt jealous the Runnin' Red Foxes got to spend extra time at WDW, I felt bad they couldn't get back to campus.
