The Cator Loop

Nice job on the tempo cruise ints today at FDR. We just got it in before this nasty, windy and cold weather barrels into the region tonight and Tuesday.

I'm taking a liking to the Cator Loop up top at FDR. The loop is named after the former, personable Marist harrier who unfortunately decided to ply his trade at another "M" school down south. He suggested it to me a few years ago; at first, I resisted, like I do to most new ideas not proposed by me.

But now, it really makes sense for late-season workouts. It's flat and soft, and footing is not an issue like it would be on a lot of leaf-covered trails nowadays in late autumn. And it's easy and quick to get to. Heck, Girma ran to and from the workout today, and I'm guessing he made it back to campus in plenty of time for his class group meeting.

And oh by the way fellas: Your days of Culinary Trails are numbered. Once Hunting Season starts in a couple weeks, we do not venture into any woods at any times. Even Joe Mac and his fluorescent colored hats. Stay out until the guns are put away.

Coach,
Is that the loop around FDR's grounds or into the woods near the Brewery?

I am pretty sure I showed Cator everything he knew as far as off-road running goes. That goes for Rickey, Conor, and "S-T-Y-L-E, Style!" himself (Mr. Flemming). Damn kids not giving credit where it is due!

The old guy,
Jut

P.S The multiple postings after several days of not posting is very lame and very unfashionable in the blogging world. Get with the program Coach!

jut,

this loop is on FDR's actual grounds, on the looping path from the garden around to rte.9 and then down the street next to the bank and back onto the grounds. it is essentially right across the street from the brewery (best bar in town, ps). You probably did show them this loop, I remember running many things as a frosh and soph with you, CT, TDubs, etc that is not given proper credit anymore.

Can someone point out the difference to me between the CT loop and "mags" made famous by the Almighty Trio + Walsh + Raucci?

Walsh - I thought Mags referred to that particular terrible grass/dirt hill up by the trails on the other side of the bridge that leads to the CT loop. Thats how i thought of it, only cuz i thnk i ran with you quinn and scottie one time and one of you called that tough steep hill mags - and that was the only time i've gone up that.
