MAAC Championships: Powered by love

After today's meet, I gathered the team into a big huddle and got emotional. The Class of 2026 will be etched in my memory forever. They transformed this team from what it was (not great) to what it is (an emerging power).

We set eight (more) school records this weekend:

MEN (5)
100-meter dash
1-Amari Mathis 10.29 *meet record, school record
200-meter dash
2-Amari Mathis 20.80 *breaks old meet record, school record, old record 20.97 by Glenmour Leonard-Osbourne
400-meter dash
6-Ryan Trocolar 48.01 *school record
400 hurdle trials
5-Emmanuel Harris 52.85 *school record; qualified for final
Men’s 3,000 steeplechase
1-Logan Schaeffler 8:59.64 *school record, old record 9:04.71 by Dan Czop in 2023
WOMEN (3)
Pole vault
9-Ruby Kaupp 3.40 meters (11 feet, 1.75 inches) *school record, old record 10-8 by Jessica Ippolito in 2022
Hammer
19-Kelly Ballen 34.82 meters (114 feet, 3 inches) *school record
1,600-meter relay
4-Marist (Julia Kropo, Stephania Granados, Breelyn McNamara, Gabrielle Bozeth) 3:49.65 *school record

By my count, that gives us a grand total of 51 school records broken or set or re-broken for 2025-2026. That's incredible. More incredible is this team, one born of the past and built for the future. It's an honor to be one of the coaches. Thank you for following along!
