Miles for dollars = (please) make a donation!

With the exciting announcement (back in December) of a future on-campus track facility on our beautiful campus at Marist College, our primary focus now is fundraising to ensure that this longtime dream comes to fruition. We (as a track coaching staff) have been working hard on some ideas for alumni engagement events in the coming months, so please stay tuned for future posts.

In the meantime, we’re starting off our fundraising drive with a “Dollars for Miles” campaign and we hope you will consider making a contribution. Back around New Year’s, I set a goal of walking and running at least 200 miles in (the month of) January to kickstart the 2024 fundraising and engagement initiatives. We’re asking you to consider a dollar-for-dollar donation of at least $200 (or more, if you want to “pledge” a higher amount per mile). My final January walk/run mileage ended up at 226.45 miles, better than expected. A lot of those miles – more than half of them, actually -- were logged on our 135-meter indoor track, walking endless laps while listening to audiobooks or music.

Here is a link to donate to the track fundraising efforts. Please consider donating any amount -- $226.45, $200 ... or more, or less -- we're grateful for any and all support and encouragement.

In case you can’t tell, we’re really excited about the future of Marist Track … with a track! We can’t wait to see you in 2024 and we look forward to sharing a “victory lap” with you once the track is completed … hopefully sometime in 2025 or soon thereafter! Thank you for your consideration and Go Red Foxes!
