Really strong day for the men, with Ramsey Little’s school record in the 5km the biggest highlight. It’s a sign of how far he has come that he was not completely satisfied with this effort, as his goal entering the race was a sub-14:00 clocking. There were many other highlights in the distance races, but also in the sprints – we are glad to welcome Amari Mathis to the racing team. That name is new to blog followers, but we have had the pleasure to work with him in practice every day for the past three months. He’s a true freshman, and a truly fast one at that! Thrilled to have him join our already strong sprint team. Highly neat!
Highlights
--Junior Ramsey Little, school record and IC4A qualifier in the 5km, fastest time in school history (indoors and outdoors)
--Freshman Amari Mathis, two personal-best times (60 dash and 200 dash) in first collegiate meet. His 60 dash time is second fastest in school history (trailing only Glenmour Leonard-Osbourne)
--All three runners in 3km ran personal-best times – Brendan Dearie, Kieran Donnelly, Tyler Perry. Collegiate debut for Kieran
--Sophomore Jack Parsons with huge personal-best time in mile run
--Sophomore Gabriel Rodriguez, personal-best time in 5,000, now 19th fastest in school history
--Junior Daniel Czop, personal-best time in the 5,000
