Our Thanksgiving morning started out as it has so many times, at Arlington High School for the Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club's Turkey Trot races. Our oldest son Joey, home on break from Stony Brook University, got seventh overall out of 483 finishers in the 5-mile race (5.1 miles on most runners' watches, as the start/finish line was moved back but the out-and-back turnarouind inexplicably stayed the same)) in 31:31. Our younger son James got 10th out of 101 in the kids' 1-mile race in 7:02 (he thought he broke 7:00, based on the finish line clock, but he didn't cross the timing mat till a few ticks after that). Afterwards, James went inside to shoot some baskets while waiting for his brother to finish.
