Springing into action ... well, not yet?

There was a lovely hint of spring in the air on this, the first day of spring 2014. Snow was melting. The sun was shining. My son's high school track team almost -- almost -- got on their brand new track today. Upon picking up my son Joey and his track teammates (we have a car-pool), they all asked for a detour to Rita's, which was serving Free Italian Ice to one and all to celebrate the first day of spring. Indeed, I was able to oblige. But wait! Not so fast ... a quick check of my favorite weather Web site (accuweather.com) revealed the following nugget of information for our part of the country. And I quote ...

"The recurring cold weather is likely to persist into the first part of April and will cause difficulties for collegiate and high school baseball games, soccer, golf, lacrosse, track and field and other outdoor sporting activities.''

Swell.

Informative and down to the point - it is so good that you are the licensed "Weather Observer"!
Great job!
