MAAC Indoor Championships: Meet highlights, women

It was the usual long night at the Armory, as you can tell by the time stamp on this post. The Internet did not seem to be working on the bus ride home (at least not on my laptop). Anyway, some great highlights from tonight ...

--Junior sprinter Danielle Asaro continued her tour de force in the 60-meter dash. After setting and tying her school record at 8.11 several times, she had a breakthrough record at 8.03 in Boston two weeks ago. Tonight, she had two breakthroughs in one meet -- what a great meet at which to do it! In the preliminary round, she ran 8.00 and qualified for finals. In the finals, she ran 7.95 and placed sixth overall. Nicely done, Danielle!
--Freshman sprinter Molly Weeks eked out a school record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.04 seconds. This time bests Holly Burns' 2010 mark of 59.08 seconds by 0.04.
--Sophomore Kristen Traub was the only other individual scorer, placing fifth in the mile in 4:59.38, just missing an ECAC mark in that event. No worries, Kristen achieved the ECAC standard in the 3,000-meter run, which she will run in Boston in two weeks.
