MAAC Championships: Steeple support

Thanks to Kathleen Nesi (Nicki's mom) for sharing this photo of Nicki in the steeplechase on Saturday afternoon. In the infield, you can see 2013 graduate and steeplechase school record holder Quimes DelaCruz cheering her on.

MAAC Championships: Women's results, day 2

Team finished 7th of 9 in the standings with 31 points. Danielle Asaro's 100 dash record was the clear highlight, but there were other standout performances: Janelle Solviletti's PR in the 1,500; Michelle Gaye's top-3 finish in a gutty (and WINDY) 5k; Kristen Traub's scoring placement in the 1,500; Danielle coming back and scoring in the 200; the flawless 4x100 relay that was within an eyelash of the school record. MAAC Championships: Danielle Asaro sprints to record!

What a wonderful photo this is! Junior sprinter Danielle Asaro seems to know already that she has broken a longstanding Marist school record at Sunday's MAAC Championships 100-meter dash final. Danielle powered her way to a fifth-place finish of 12.48 seconds, bettering Dominique Pino's 1997 mark of 12.59 seconds. As always, her loyal dad and official team photographer, Dan Asaro, was there to record the moment with his trusty camera, and here is the shot. Nicely done, Danielle! We just returned from Rider, and will post further results when we can.
