With the exception of freshman sprinter Abby Smith (who nearly missed her race, thinking the scheduled
alumni/faculty mile was going to be held! … but ultimately put in a solid
effort), this was a senior-fest. Kerri Flynn, Jackie Bunce and Kim Schwartz
ran their final collegiate races. Brie Vess ran her eyebrow-raising -- but
ultimately harmless -- penultimate college race (yeah, she broke 70 in the 400, as was her GOAL), with the MAAC 5km
to close out her career. Redshirt Janelle Solviletti set the table for what we
anticipate will be a great fifth year in track with a dominant win in the 5km.
And alum Kelley Gould, now a strong half/full marathoner, ran a strong and
steady 5km race. Off to Rider for MAACs now. OK!
