Grandmas’ goodbye

As we mentioned in a previous post, the long series of goodbyes continues over the coming days and weeks. On Wednesday afternoon, it was a final track practice for the three self-proclaimed “grandmas” – fifth-year seniors Annie Gould, Nicki Nesi and Brie Vess. This post-workout photo shows that the Grandmas got an appropriate sendoff – a 1-to-1 coach-to-athlete ratio, neat! You’ll note the disparity in how we were dressed on this blustery (for me, anyway) day out at the track. How many hundreds of laps have these ladies run around that Vassar track? A lot, man. How much have they added to our program – on and off the track? A lot, man. Will we miss them? You bet. It didn’t dawn on me till later that night, holy smokes, they are DONE very soon! We will miss them greatly, but I know they will remain in our orbit in the future and in our hearts forever. They are our daughters and our sisters (more daughters, really), and they are our Forever Foxes. Here’s hoping for a great final few races for the Grandmas.
