Paul Short Run: Quick recap

Long day at Lehigh, but a mostly productive day for the program. The huge -- HUGE! -- headline was our women's team, which placed a program best 2nd place in the Brown Race out of 40 teams. We did this despite our lead runner all year, Kristen Traub, succumbing to a knee injury and having to drop out in the latter stages of the race. It is a true testament to the character, toughness and depth of the team that we were able to overcome this with a stellar team performance -- led by our super senior, Michelle Gaye. Coach Chuck has assembled and developed a tremendous group of ladies, and we are proud of them each and every day. Nicely done! Our men's team ran OK in the Brown Race, placing 7th out of 40 teams. We know we can do better and we need to do better, but the effort was there, and we were without the services of lead runner Ken Walshak, who is recovering well from a lower leg injury.  Our men have been working extremely hard -- maybe too hard of late? -- and we are hoping for better results in the coming weeks out of them.
