Congrats to Marist Running Alum Matt "CT" Szymaszek for rockin' a great 15km at the Delaware Distance Classic on Sunday. CT was hoping to run around 5:45/mile. He surprised himself with a strong third-place showing in 51:32 (5:32 per mile). He wrote in an email that in the middle of the race, he was in a pack of several runners vying for a top-three placement.
Other than the fancy arm sleeves you see above (along with the old-school singlet), CT was running totally on feel. The others around him had fancy Garmin watches and the like. CT ran hard and ran strong, and earned a top-3 finish. This was an excellent tuneup for the Philly Marathon next month. We are proud of CT's ability to balance his medical studies with top-notch long-distance training and racing. NICELY DONE.
