As I arrived at Bowdoin Park this morning to set up for our home XC meet that just concluded, the place was deserted except for the many deer lining the front lawn near Sheafe Road. As I waited for Coach Terry Horton to unlock the gate to the park, I looked down the hill and saw several more deer on the course. And then, I saw a curious fox bounding up toward hilltop. It would make for a much better post if I told you it was a red fox, but alas it was a more common grey fox. Even still, I thought it was a good omen for what was another fine start to our XC season.
