Finding fast friends at a fine Fleet Feet footwear facility

In the "make the best of an unusual situation" department ... we just got done with a midday stop at Fleet Feet in East Syracuse. We called ahead to warn them, and the fine friendly folks at Fleet Feet (how's THAT for alliteration, as well as the blog post title?!) were ready for us, with boxes of lightweight racing shoes piled high for our athletes to sample. Our loyal alum, Mike Melfi, used to work at Fleet Feet and often talked about owner Ed Griffin, and it was great to meet him after all these years. Ed had kind words for Mike and for our school and our program. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by another friendly face -- Iona College XC/track alum Chris Stogsdill. Stogs was always a friendly rival and he was super helpful for our men and women. We left the store with new racing shoes for the new road course. And away we go to Buffalo!
