BU Terrier Invitational: Jeremy Mooney gets school record in 200 dash!

Sophomore sprinter Jeremy Mooney had a major breakthrough in the 200-meter dash on Saturday afternoon, notching both a school record AND a first-ever IC4A qualifier in that event, eclipsing fellow Connecticut native Tim Johnson’s three-year-old mark by .30. And, as you can see by this starting photo (taken by Zachary Ropes' dad, Charlie), Jeremy did it from the least preferred lane (lane 6). Like Ramsey Little in the men’s 5km, Jeremy is a relative newcomer to the sport, having never run track in high school. His goal since joining the team was to “get on the (record) board” and he has now accomplished that. There are more records to chase, but for today, this is an excellent start to his pursuits. Nicely done!
