Dietrich ran well. He wanted to do better. But he ran well.
Start with the finish: Superb! His last lap was in an eye-popping 67.87
seconds, vaulting him into 10th place out of 14 entrants. The early pace was very
slow, then very fast. Deet got gapped by most of the field, and settled into an
82-83/lap pace. He had some slow laps toward 8km, but then rallied for a strong
finish.
This meet is about representing the program well on a
national level. Dietrich did that. And for that, we are proud of him. Nicely
done.
