Mike Rolek (class of 2008), our esteemed former team captain and 10km record holder, nailed a nice 4-miler at Clove Lakes Park on Staten Island -- home of recent alums B-Dix and T-Dix and long-ago and very loyal alum Marty McGowan.
Rolek placed 2nd in the 4-miler to former Iona star Abraham Ngetich. Rolek ran 20:44.9, 10 seconds behind Ngetich. A nice effort. Mike has had some strong road race performances in New Jersey since graduation.
Like many alums, he will be at the Iona Meet of Champions next week and then at the Philadelphia Marathon/Half Marathon in late November.
