The first of three MAAC Championships of the academic year in our sport -- cross country -- will be held on Saturday at Twin Ponds at the Farm in Montgomery (Orange County). Manhattan College is the host. But really, we (Marist) are the closest school to the Farm, a mere 43 minutes away! One coach from a prominent MAAC powerhouse team texted me a few weeks ago, saying that his team would be "staying in Poughkeepsie" on the night before the meet. I replied: "Neat! So are we!" They may even do their team dinner at Cosimo's across from the Marist campus. Also neat! Anyway? The long-range weather forecast looks like it will be unseasonably mild this week, leading into Saturday's races. The women's 6km race is at 11a; the men's 8km race is at 12 noon.
