Dutchess County was visited by Running Royalty this weekend,
as Bill Rodgers was in town for the Dutchess County Classic. I had the honor to
meet Bill at a Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club small group dinner last night,
where we talked like old friends for a few hours over fine Italian food. This
morning, we met up again at the Classic (photo above after he ran the half
marathon), and he was kind enough to greet our Marist contingent after the
race. The man is a living legend, a role model for so many of us, but mostly
just a genuinely good guy.
