On Thursday, my beautiful wife Heidi and our oldest son, Joey, were down on Long Island for freshman orientation at Stony Brook University, which Joey will be attending in a few short weeks as a computer science major. After growing up his whole life in and around Marist, it's hard to fathom our kid going to another school, but we firmly believe this is a great fit for him and we are proud of his efforts in securing a spot in the freshman class at a very competitive university. So please forgive us if we have different shades of red, as proud parents in Seawolves Country: Heidi got her photo taken with the Stony Brook mascot, Wolfie, during the orientation. He reports for classes in a few short weeks, right around his 18th birthday. Wait. How did this happen so fast?
