Norrie Point: 20 years, and running

Today was our annual Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club Recover from the Holidays (Fat Ass) 50K race. Charlie Sprauer (upper right in photo) and I have been directing and organizing this low-key event since 1996 -- holy smokes, that made this year the 20th annual! Yeah. We're getting OLD. Much like last year, we had the fire pit going this year -- always a good thing on a long, cold day. The weather was much better this year ... until it wasn't. It was cold and gray, but no wind and no ice. Then! At around 1:30 p.m., it started snowing hard, and that made things slippery and messy. Oh well, what do you expect for early January in the mid-Hudson Valley.

Above is a ridiculous selfie taken by our good friends from the Junk Yard Dogs: Doc Dog and Stalwart Dog. In the background, you can see the keepers of the flame for 2015 -- yes, that's a Vassar hat I'm wearing, given generously to us by Jut Harris. For those keeping score at home, here are today's results.
