BU Season Opener: Men's results and splits

Solid day for the men and a good start to the season. After the aforementioned guys in the 300-meter dash, here are a few other highlights …

It was a busy day for junior Alex Cunningham, who placed fourth in the first round of the 60-meter hurdles and then placed fourth again in the finals. In both races, he ran a solid early-season mark of 8.45 seconds. Then, he ran a strong 200-meter dash (23.19 seconds) and finally a leg of the 4x400 B team. Four tough races! He certainly earned his meal money. Good thing he does not read this blog, because he wasn’t happy with his performances and asked that they not be highlighted. Too bad! Alex has been working hard and we are expecting big things from him in 2015.

Our 800-meter men ran together and ran fast December times with four sub-2:00 clockings, from Nate Lungarini, Nestor Taylor, Kyle Heubner and Mark Vuono. Nicely done, men!

In the mile run, the much anticipated grudge match between Eddie White and Ricky Willi lived up to its billing. Both guys ran PRs and were neck and neck the entire way. Good stuff.

And lastly, our 5km runners both ran solid debuts/PRs at the end of the day. Freshman Dietrich Mosel proved to be a fast learner at this event, and sophomore Brian Edsall cracked 16:00 for the first time and PRed by more than 10 seconds.
