Red Fox Trot 5K: The sun shines again on a wonderful event
The next several posts will be dedicated to today's Red Fox Trot 5K race. The fourth annual race was another wonderful success. The Red Fox Trot race committee was a bit nervous earlier this week, as the entry numbers were lagging compared to previous years. But thanks to a surge in race-day entries -- including many loyal alums of the program -- the 235 finishers was pretty much on par with every other year of the race. Great stuff! Marist Running Alums Conor Shelley (repeat winner) and Kathryn Sheehan (new course/race record!) led the charge. More on that later. For now, a hearty thank you and nicely done to the Red Fox Club (which puts on the race) and everyone involved in every aspect of the race -- especially the alums who took time from their schedules to come back to Poughkeepsie to support the event.
