On Friday afternoon, a partial squad of men and women will be traveling back to Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT, for the Central Connecticut State University Mini Meet. The meet will consist of a 3-kilometer race for women and a 5-kilometer race for men. Race times are as follows:
Women's 3km: 3:30 p.m.
Men's 5km: 4 p.m.
Based on the weather forecast I'm seeing, we will be getting wet there. Very, very wet. Heavy thunderstorms and rain are in the forecast. The word "flooding" has been bandied about as well. As a wise runner once told me in a text message: "We are not salt. We are stronger than salt." And so we will run, storms and all.
