Monmouth results

In the "I'm too old for this stuff" department ...

We left campus yesterday morning at 5:30 a.m., and did not arrive back until 11 p.m. I drove the van both ways! I love driving the van, but the ride home toward the end got tough, despite the riveting "van talk" with Janzo and friends (last night's topic: Religion).

Thanks for Kyle Havard's family for the great post-meet feed, despite the bus driver's being none-too-pleased with the unplanned stop. Oh well. That's life. We offered to feed him but he refused.

Overall, this was our best season-opening outdoor meet in recent memory. Despite chilly and windy conditions that deteriorated as the day went on (by the time the 4x400 went off, it was downright nasty and getting dark), we had many PRs and PR-type efforts (PRs noted below).

Nestor's 5km was not a PR but was close and he was doubling back from the 1500. Fitz PRed by 30 seconds in the 5km despite doubling back from 1500. Janzo had his best first steeple of the season. Duggan ran tough and PRed by about a second.

Perhaps the biggest star of the day was Tom DeVaney in the javelin, with his personal-best launch despite a lack of practice. Nicely done!

I will post splits at a later date, but at least the results list is here.
